Prioritize yourself so that you can become the best version of yourself.

Of course, what self-care looks like  depends on who you are and what you do best. Maybe you need to meditate or do yoga, meet up with dear friends or listen to music. When you figure out what fills your batteries and makes you feel good, self-care is a balm for the soul and your energy level will be at its peak.

Maybe the saying ”Treat others the way you want to be treated”  rings a bell? It’s probably something most of us have heard since we were children, but even so, treating ourselves with kindness and respect seems to be very difficult for us humans to embrace.  We seem to have an easier time treating others better than we do ourselves. Self-care is also a good word that reminds us that we must respect and be kind to ourselves.

When things feel uneasy around us, it is extra important that we find security in ourselves and value our health. Anxiety is a natural feeling that comes as a reaction to feeling unsure, scared or nervous within your environment and sometimes these feelings affect one’s life in a larger scale. By focusing on one’s well-being, we can counteract this. Here are some tips to help you prioritize your health:

– Talk and share your emotions with someone you trust. Do not be alone with your thoughts, sometimes it can feel nice to talk about your feelings.

– Shield yourself and take digital breaks during the day, limit yourself from negative news reports if you feel depressed by this.

– Make a list of things to do that make you feel better, and do them.

– Create routines that make you feel good even in times like these. Prioritize food, sleep and physical activity. Moving is important to release tension in the muscles.
